# Are You Working Hard or Working Smart?

The other day, I saw a post that made me shake my head.

Someone was saying the *only* way to land a great job or build a strong career is by applying to every opportunity, cold-emailing people non-stop, and taking any gig that comes your way—whether or not it fits your long-term goals.

Basically, their advice boiled down to:
💼 Keep grinding.
💬 Keep reaching out.
🤞🏽 Hope for the best.

Does this work? Sure. But is it the smartest way? Not even close.

Because here’s the truth:

🚨 If your career depends solely on chasing opportunities and hoping someone says *yes*, you don’t have control over your success.

You have a full-time job in **persistence-based begging.**

But what if, instead of running after opportunities, you made opportunities come to you?

### **The Smarter Approach to Career Growth**

You don’t need to apply for *hundreds* of jobs.
You don’t need to DM *everyone* on LinkedIn.
You don’t need to *convince* people to give you a shot.

Instead, you need **a system** that positions you as the person companies, clients, and networks *want* to connect with.

Here’s how:

🔹 **One Clear Career Path**
Ask yourself:

* What type of opportunities do I actually want?

* Who do I want to work with or learn from?

* What specific skills or experiences make me stand out?

Getting clarity on your *career direction* helps you focus on quality opportunities instead of wasting time on anything and everything.

🔹 **A Personal Brand That Attracts the Right People**
Your LinkedIn, resume, and online presence should reflect the value you bring.

* Share insights and lessons from your work.

* Engage with professionals in your field.

* Show up as someone who’s serious about growth.

When you do this consistently, you won’t have to chase every opportunity—because people will start coming to *you.*

🔹 **A Low-Commitment Way to Get Noticed**
Just like businesses have small offers to attract paying clients, you can create ways for recruiters, mentors, or collaborators to experience your work.

* Write insightful posts.

* Create a small project to showcase your skills.

* Offer to solve a problem for a company before even applying.

This way, they *see* your value instead of just reading about it on a CV.

🔹 **A System That Converts Interest Into Opportunities**
Once you have attention, make it easy for people to say **yes** to you:

* Have a strong portfolio or work samples.

* Be prepared to communicate your value clearly in conversations.

* Keep in touch with your network so you stay top of mind.

By the time an opportunity comes up, you’re already seen as the best person for the job—without having to beg for it.

### **Work Smart, Not Just Hard**

🔥 Instead of chasing people, **attract them.**
🔥 Instead of convincing, **prove your value.**
🔥 Instead of hoping for opportunities, **position yourself for them.**

You don’t have to grind endlessly. You just need a strategy that *works.*

💡 *“You don’t get what you deserve. You get what you position yourself for.”*

So, are you making opportunities *come to you*—or are you still chasing?
